Coffee - Based on what?

We can't keep a clean sheet for love nor money, and the goals have dried up.

I'm not saying that we won't win, but no way can anyway confidently predict we will win that game.

We should be aiming to eventually play like Spurs did against us.

"Who thinks we will beat Stoke at home?"

Me.

Re: Becoming a poor man's Arsenal..
Yesterday there was a thread complaining that we were more long ball than Allardyce. Now we are passing too much and Arsenal lite.

Re: Becoming a poor man's Arsenal..
I've no problem with us trying to play good possession football and it's still a learning curve, but we do need to work on turning defence into attack quicker and putting the other team on their heels more often rather than playing it around in front of them.

The great teams get on the attack lightning fast, and that's how they create good scoring opportunities.

Re: Becoming a poor man's Arsenal..
At the end of the day we're a mid-table side, and most people will take positives and negatives from that. I said on the match thread yesterday before KO that it would most likely be a scrappy draw, the fact that I didn't think we would beat WBA at home tells me I'm realistic and every side has to be respected. Everton couldn't even beat Bournemouth after being 2 up, Arsenal couldn't beat Norwich after going ahead. Liverppol needed a pen to put away Swasea. The league is all over the place.

Who thinks we will beat Stoke at home?

Yeah real shame we're playing some exciting football on the floor this season!
It might not be 90 minutes worth but I'll take anything I can get at the mo over what we've had to put up with last 4 seasons.

So we play exciting fast passing football and create lots of chances?

That will do for me. Already looking forward to next week's game.

Better than being the poor mans Stoke like we were last season

Re: Becoming a poor man's Arsenal..
Yes, we should have won - comfortably - but it's not so long ago that this forum longed for the impossible dream of becoming Arsenal lite. And when we have it, the moaners are out in force. If we won the Premier League title, there would still be people complaining about something.

Well we have an equally impressive injury list.

At least they keep their agreements and don't sign our players.

''Billic, sadly, didn't have an alternative other than Carroll as a bulldozer - & that's never going to work consistently''

But that's simply not true is it, there were are other options on the bench as we saw later in the game??

As for 'crying out for Song' yep, bcause he really would have made such a big difference.

At least you never said we 'missed Noble'

Re: Becoming a poor man's Arsenal..
we're missing three of our best attacking players and are in the middle of the biggest transition in style likely ever. suffice to say, we can be forgiven for lacking total cohesion at this point.

Re: Becoming a poor man's Arsenal..
Should have won.

Jelavic is useless however no clue why Billic would leave Song on the bench for him.

Jenkinson or borderline shocking bad sign somoene or play Jamie there.

Leave Noble out of the team IMO much prefer Lanzini in that role.

Re: Becoming a poor man's Arsenal..
of course of course

but in signing up years ago West Ham was not available so we settled for westham family as an identity on line ...no need to be so "picky" our family all born in west ham have supported the Hammers since 1899 so we are away that the team is actually called West Ham..we hope this explanation for you.....

WestHam(sic)

You do realise that West Ham is TWO words, do you not?

Re: Becoming a poor man's Arsenal..

We would totally endorse threesixty. BFS is now away at Sunderland doing what he does best...keeping teams away from the drop out of the Premier League. He may well be successful.

West Ham now has an exciting new manager who has actually played for us.

He is the man to take us forward into the new stadium.

He is a manager who a lot of very good players; who want to work with him.

And with the Hammers in the new stadium; we really can build to a point where we will be candidates for top four year after year.

We really like some of the football we are playing; and prefer to forget the days of Glenn Roeder et al.

West Ham will not win every game; no team can. Let us concentrate on and applauding victories a :- Manchester City, Liverpool, Arsenal and Crystal Palace. That in and of itself is worth remembering about 2015.

There is the capacity for top five in this team but if that is not achieved in 2016 i would predict 7th or 8th.....

We have a lot of confidence in Slaven and in the team; he and the team; have done really well.

The future is brighter than for many many years.

Let us be happy about this.

West Ham Family since 1899...

Thanks again threesixty
